Slider Buns / Dollar Rolls: Buttery as Heaven

These delicious slider buns are super easy to make and amazing for hamburgers and sandwiches alike.

How to make Slider Buns / Dollar Rolls

1 cup warm water
2 Tablespoons olive oil
1 egg
3-1/4 to 3-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/8 to 1/4 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2-1/2 teaspoons instant yeast

Add warm water to large bowl, along with oil, egg, sugar, and salt. Then stir in 1 cup of flour along with the yeast. Add the 2nd cup of flour; stir. Add the 3rd cup of flour along with enough additional flour to make soft, pliable dough. Knead about 5 minutes.

Very lightly grease a bowl. Place the dough into the bowl, turning to lightly coat the dough surfaces with oil. Cover bowl with clingwrap and allow to rise for about 2 hours, until it has doubled in size.

After dough has risen, deflate it very gently and divide into about 24 pieces. Shape each into a small round ball. Place the balls of dough onto a parchment paper lined cookie sheet. Then gently press each ball of dough down to slightly flatten.

Cover the tray of dough balls with a clean kitchen towel and allow to rise for one hour.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Then bake rolls 10-15 minutes or until golden brown. All ovens heat differently, so it is important to keep an eye on the rolls to make sure they are not browning too rapidly and/or so they are not removed before being thoroughly baked through. Their internal temperature should be about 190 degrees, when done.

After removing baked rolls, brush tops lightly with 3 Tablespoons of melted butter. Allow to cook completely before storing.
